    Food & Beverage
  • Part Time Bartender
    • Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons of bar, following standard recipes.
    • Serves wine and draught or bottled beer.
    • Collects money for drinks served.
    • Arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive display.
    • May slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
    • Maintaining cleanliness of bar area.
    • Attention to detail and consistency in every aspect of service is a must.
    • This is a fast paced position that will involve constant customer interaction.
    • Position is very hands on.
    • Other duties as assigned.

  • Part Time Kitchen Cooks
    • Fulfilling the service per each Banquet Event Orders (BEO).
    • Maintaining all Kitchen equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance.
    • Must be creative in designing buffet food presentations.
    • Preparing recipes as directed.
    • Must take direction well.
    • Maintain clean safe working environment.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    WORK CONTACTS

    Daily contact with the Executive Chef, Captains and other convention center employees.  

    PHYSICAL EFFORT

    This position requires stooping and lifting.  Substantial standing, walking and lifting.  Must be able to lift 30 lbs to the waist.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Works mainly in the main kitchen however, works throughout the building.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • At least (1) year experience in a banquet facility preparing meals for large events.
    • Ability to work with other staff members in the facility.
    • Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
    • Ability to be creative with buffet food presentations and maintain a quality product.
    • Attention to detail.

                           



  • Part Time Steward
    • Delivery of all food to prospective functions.
    • Delivery and set-up and breakdown of all equipment to prospective functions.
    • Cleanliness in both kitchens.
    • Position is very hands on with excessive interaction with staff.
    • Running and maintenance of the main dish machine.
    • Must be quick with counting and simple arithmetic.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    PHYSICAL EFFORT

    This position requires stooping and lifting.  Substantial standing, walking and pushing and or pulling of equipment.  Must be able to lift 25 lbs to the waist.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • At least two (2) years of experience in a Food & Beverage environment.
    • Strong ability to work with other staff members in the facility.
    • Results oriented individual with the ability to meet required time lines.
    • Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
    • Must adhere to local Food Codes.



  • Part Time Waitstaff
    • Fulfilling the service per each Banquet 
      Event Orders (BEO).
    • Maintaining all Banquet equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance.
    • Must be creative in designing buffets and coffee break decor.
    • Attention to detail and consistency in every aspect of service is a must.
    • Position is very hands on.
    • Cleaning of uniforms and Banquet Linens.

    This position is responsible for patrolling all areas of property and parking lots, securing doors, ensuring the safety of all guests, employees and contract labor while on premises; securing property during move in/out trade shows, conventions or events by performing the following duties:
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    ·         Secures property.
    ·         Locks and unlocks facility doors.
    ·         Conducts routine property walks.
    ·         Responds to emergency situations.
    ·         Interacts with the public and all levels of management and fellow employees.
    ·         Secures the safety of all individuals on the premises.
    ·         Appropriately deals with "unruly" people.
    ·         Works independently, and judges and assesses situations for immediate response.
    ·         All other duties as assigned.
    QUALIFICATIONS 
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Part Time Set Up Crew
  • JOB SUMMARY

    Participate in the physical set-up and tear-down of equipment and furniture for events and assist in physical cleaning, sweeping and scrubbing of facility as required by operational standards.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Prepares facility for show including setting chairs, stages, tables and counters as assigned.

    ·Performs exterior cleaning of terrace, steps,    parking garage, and sidewalks.

    ·Cleans interior and exterior glass.

    ·Uses equipment as required upon completion of training in safe manner and as directed by operational standards.

    ·Disposes of all waste, including bulk trash removal from hall and participates in recycling program as required.

    ·All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Part Time Event Security
    • Provide a guest services level of care for employees, clients, and patrons.
    • Assist with traffic flow during move-in and move-out and in the parking garage.
    • Monitor entrances and exits during events for compliance with SCC rules and regulations.
    • Carry out emergency, safety, and security programs and procedures when necessary.
    • Work extended or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

    • Position requires walking the facility and grounds
    • Position primarily works inside and outside the facility, with some exposure to adverse weather and working conditions.

  • Part Time Parking Cashiers
    • Works with the public collecting funds for parking on property.
    • Responsible for reconciling money drawer on shift and reporting all funds to Manager
    • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Direct traffic to the prescribed parking spot.
    • Monitor traffic and pedestrian flow to and from the Convention Center.
    • Report all incidents and situations that may affect the operation of the parking department.

  • Part Time Guest Service Staff
  • Serve as ticket taker and/or usher distributing programs

    and providing information to assist visitors and patrons.

    Assist with last minute pre-event needs, such as

    setting-up, decorating, finding materials, etc.

    Provide special accommodations for wheelchairs and

    other physically handicapped patrons, senior citizens,

    students and groups. 

    Take tickets at the entrance of Shreveport Convention

    Center.

    Monitor door entrances and exits and all passenger and

    freight elevators, keeping unauthorized persons out of

    restricted areas.

    Handle all needs for guests with disabilities including

    ticketing, entrance/exiting, and overall ADA compliance.

    Patrol and maintain Front of House area of the

    Shreveport Convention Center, ensuring that all Front

    of House areas are clean, safe, and secure.

    Report or log all incidents and related activities.

    All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS 

    Demonstrated knowledge of guest services.  Some

    knowledge of radio communication equipment is

    preferred.  Employee must be clean and neat in

    appearance.  Reasonable accommodations will be

    High School diploma or GED and one to three

    months related experience and/or training; or an
